If you know me in real life, you’d know how sensitive I am to literally everything. I’ve only ever been able to use a minimal amount of product long term, or at all, depending on the severity of the allergic reaction I have to whatever product I’m trying… until I was sent a beautiful little care package from the babes at Lanolin Beauty.
The brand has been around for over 25 years, establishing themselves as a market leader in their niche and after trying the products in this post for a solid month now, I can understand why.
It’s safe to say, they’ve become a new daily essential for me.
I was sent 5 products:
- Cream with Vitamin E
- Anti Wrinkle Night Cream with Collagen & Vitamin E
- Day Cream with Royal Jelly & Vitamin E
- Eye Gel with Cucumber Extract
- Lip Balm with Vitamin E
The Creams:I’ve been using each product, daily for over 30 days straight and I have definitely noticed changes in my skin and overall appearance. The three versions of the face creams all have the same base, with slightly different additives in each. As someone with allergies, I love that it’s the same cream base. It means that if I can use one product, I can use all. I cannot tell you how many amazing brands are out there where I’m allergic to 98% of the range and can only use one product. I know it’s not ideal or always possible to use the same base but in this case, it is possible and my skin is happier for it!
I love that all of their products have Vitamin E. For those who don’t know, Vitamin E is a regenerative vitamin, it helps the skin retain it’s natural moisture and helps to protect the skin from the suns damaging UV rays.
I alternate between the two day creams, and use the night cream religiously. I need to make note here that for once I can actually wear a night cream! Aside from allergies, I’ve personally always found night creams to be a little too heavy for my borderline oily skin, so it’s nice to be able to apply one and not wake up in the morning covered in red blotches from overwhelming my pores.
The Eye Gel: Had me hesitant at first, I’ve always found eye gels to be very oily and drying for my eyes during the day but applying this one is just like applying a great eye cream, if not better! It doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry and at the same time, isn’t too oily or heavy, I don’t even notice I’m wearing it!
The Lip Balm: Is arguably my favourite of all the products; as someone who’s spent her whole life allergic to cosmetics [aside from my own range of cosmetics] it made me feel elegant AF to apply a lip balm in the shape of a lipstick. It has the perfect level of shine and makes my lips look amazing, not to mention it’s incredibly hydrating. I’m thoroughly impressed by the formula.
The Packaging: Is so gorgeous, I love the simple white and pastel colours. I’ve always been a fan of the classic look and Lanolin Beauty certainly has that in spades.
The Price: I love the price point, you can’t go wrong with a face cream that lasts well over a month when you only had to shell out $10 for it! Lanolin have mastered the low price without sacrificing quality and I am here for it.
Any Cons? I wouldn’t call it a con as such, but the cream does have a distinct and strong scent. I’d put that down to the fact that it’s a completely natural cream without added and synthetic fragrance. I would much prefer the natural scent over a synthetic one in this situation. To combat that, I simply added Lavender Essential Oil to the creams and you can’t smell the base at all any more.
