It’s not often that I get interviewed personally. There’s something a little surreal about it! A few weeks back, a lovely lady from The Sydney Morning Herald gave me a call and we had a long chat about life, work and all the sacrifices that come with running a 7 figure company. The article ended up getting published by both The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald on their print and web platforms!

People often ask me how I’ve achieved so much from such a young age. The truth is, the hours I’ve worked and the time I’ve dedicated to our humble family business is the same as a 50 something in the same position. I just started a hell of a lot younger.
It’s not all sunshine and roses, and a lot of my life was spent working instead of partying or hanging out with friends but I couldn’t tell you I regret it. I’m proud of what I and my family have achieved. Our blood, sweat and tears went into this business and to see it flourish every day is a testament to all of our hard work and dedication.
If you want to start your own business, or follow your own dreams in any capacity, the trick is to never give up. Not for one damn second. You need to work hard, every day without fail. Even when you’ve reached the pinnacle of your success [which I’m yet to do, let me tell you] there’ll still be more to achieve.
People often talk about their success but rarely do they shine a light on what went into achieving that. It’s not easy, you’ll get a lot of no’s, a lot of set backs and knock downs. You’ll feel like you’re not good enough, like what you’re doing isn’t enough, like you’ll never be as great as the others you’re comparing yourself to… and that’s okay. It’s normal and you are not alone. All I can tell you is to focus on yourself and not the chaos around you and just keep moving forward one step at a time.
